CONFESSION
"Okay, I admit it. He finally got to me. I loved Rose SO much - and he married her. It's been less than a year since she died - and here he was saying that he was going to marry someone else! How dare he! It just proved that he never really loved her. He just didn't want to someone else to have her - so he took her for himself."
"Anyway, tonight he broke the final straw. I tried to calm down in the library, I took my glasses of and closed my eyes and tried to blank it out of my mind. But when I opened my eyes, his Axe was glaring at me from the wall. I knew what I had to do."
"I took the Axe down from off the wall and went to the Study to find David. But he was in the middle of an argument with Miss Peach. I started listening at the door, but then I heard someone coming, so I ducked into the Hall."
"Unfortunately I accidentally dropped the Axe on the floor and I heard the person coming to investigate the noise. I quickly hid in the Hall cupboard (it is quite large - this is a mansion after all) but left the door slightly ajar so that I could see who came in."
"It was Mrs. Peacock. She came in, looked around, picked up the Axe and left. Now I needed another weapon to use on Black. That's when I spotted the Spanner next to me in the cupboard. Perfect."
"I went back over to the door nearest to the Study and listened to the rest of the argument. I heard Miss Peach say that she'd left Slate-Grey in the dining room. The mood that Black was in, I knew that he'd head straight there as soon as he'd finished with her, to have it out with Slate-Grey."
"So I went to the dining room first. I was going to give Slate-Grey some reason why he should leave, but he had already left the room by the time I got there. While I was waiting, I absent-mindedly picked up the receipt off the floor. Eventually my plan proved right and Black came into the Dining Room. I can still see his face as I struck him over the head with the Spanner. I wonder whether in those final few seconds he finally realised what he had put me through. I doubt it."
